Transfer along the scenic byways of Sitka to a metal-working workshop. Grabbing a piece of metal, your instructor programs a fish or animal file into the plasma cutter, sparks fly, and suddenly you’re handed the basic shape of your favorite wildlife. What will it be today? An eagle, whale, jellyfish, otter, bear, salmon, halibut or crab?
At your workstation, listen to a safety briefing; then, begin a detailed, step-by-step walkthrough on crafting your own fish or animal masterpiece. Using a grinder, design and texture your wildlife. Use a mallet to give it a 3D shape. Lastly, turn up the heat on your torch to draw out shades of bronze, purple, and blue. Your creation will be your own uniquely perfect piece of artwork to take home and hang on the wall as a reminder of your creative, fun, and unusual Alaska vacation.
