This relaxed, easy activity offers a chance to paddle an inflatable canoe in Tierra del Fuego, where ocean, rivers, mountains and forests hold hands to create a dazzling wild landscape.
Begin with a 70-minute drive via Roca Lake to Acigami Lake. Gear up here with rubber boots, overpants and a lifejacket; then, hop onto your stable duckie-type canoe and head out onto the slow-flowing Lapataia and Ovando Rivers.
Your 60- to 90-minute canoe journey begins in fresh water and ends at the sea in Lapataia Bay. Along the way, you will see the flora and fauna of otherwise inaccessible places -- the same view enjoyed by the semi-nomadic Yámana native people long before colonization.
At Lapataia Bay, hike for an hour through the forest to a viewpoint. A boxed lunch is provided for you to enjoy here.
A 30-minute drive returns you to the pier.
