Choose one of three epic and majestic cruise itineraries to Japan this September to indulge in an unforgettable experience that will also feature unique onboard activities with Chef Morimoto. Begin your journey in Seattle (roundtrip) on Sept. 1, 2024 for a 53-day cruise; Vancouver to Seattle on Sept. 3 for a 51-day cruise; or Yokohama (Tokyo) to Seattle on Sept. 21 for a 34-day cruise. All three voyages will feature opportunities to relish delicious onboard activities with Chef Morimoto while he sails with us for a limited time throughout the journey. You can also immerse yourself in spectacular sights and sounds ashore, including Japan’s vibrant fall colors and a stop in Chef Morimoto’s hometown of Hiroshima.

Itinerary Highlights 

If starting your cruise from Seattle or Vancouver:

  • Enjoy breathtaking views of glaciers along Alaska’s Inside Passage and Stephens Passage as you make your way to Asia.
  • Explore the beauty of Juneau, Sitka, Kodiak and Dutch Harbor (through the Aleutian Islands).
  • Visit the east and west coasts of Japan, immersing yourself in the following ports: Kushiro, Hakodate, Yokohama (Tokyo), Kobe, Kochi, Hiroshima, Kanmon Straight, Fukuoka (Hakata), Sakaiminato, Toyama, Kanazawa, Nagasaki, Ishigaki Island and Naha. In addition to exploring the ports, you’ll also have the opportunity of a scenic cruise around Iwo Jima and Midway Island.
  • As part of the itinerary, you can visit sites important to World War II history, including the Children’s Peace Monument and Hiroshima Peace Memorial, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Enjoy extra time in Yokohama (Tokyo) and Kobe through overnight stays.
  • Continue to Pacific Islands, with volcano views and stops in Nawiliwili and Kauai, and an overnight in Honolulu.

If starting your cruise from Yokohama (Tokyo):

  • Visit the east and west coasts of Japan, immersing yourself in the following ports: Shimizu, Kobe, Kochi, Nagasaki, Ishigaki Island, Naha, Hiroshima, Sakaiminato, Kanazawa and Toyama. In addition to exploring the ports, you’ll also have the opportunity of a scenic cruise in Kanmon Strait and around Iwo Jima and Midway Island.

Get ready for a multi-course dinner with inspired cuisine for a broad range of palates. Vegetarian and vegan selections will also be available.

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the mouthwatering meals you could delight in at the Morimoto by Sea pop-up experience:

Appetizers

  • Sushi Plate: (Vegetarian can be requested.) Nigiri with salmon, hamachi, hotate, maki with ebi tempura, Dungeness California, salmon shikai maki.
  • Morimoto Fresh Tuna Pizza: Anchovy aioli, kalamata olive, red onion, jalapeno.
  • Tempura Calamari Salad: (Can be served without calamari on request.) Quinoa two ways, white miso dressing.
  • Pork Gyoza Dumpling: Ginger-scallion sauce.
  • Tori Paitan Ramen Noodles Soup: Soy egg, bamboo shoot, hot creamy broth poured at the table.

Main Courses

  • Crispy Fried Whole Market Fresh Fish: Sweet spicy chili sauce, pickle vegetables.
  • Ishiyaki Buri Bop: Fresh Pacific yellowtail on rice, cooked at the tableside in a hot stone bowl.
  • Shrimp Three Way “Morimoto Style”: Tempura, panko, arare-age, tartar, tonkatsu and gochujang sauce.
  • Angry Lobster Pad Thai: Maine lobster, rice noodles, Thai red curry sauce.
  • Broiled Beef Tenderloin steak: Japanese-style mushroom sauce.
  • Jidori Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Oyster Yakitori: Shichimi togarashi.
  • Japanese Vegetables Curry: Tofu steak, seasonal vegetables.

Side Dishes

  • House fried rice, steamed rice or brown rice.
  • Wasabi mashed potato.
  • Wok seared bok choy.
  • Basket steamed vegetables.

Desserts

  • Dark Chocolate Sphere: Ganache, marshmallow, milk hot chocolate sauce.
